Growing up, Lee Connor, MD, was always interested in the sciences but it was in college when he figured out he wanted to be in healthcare. “My ability to apply my knowledge and problem-solving skills in a way that benefits others was my main draw to medicine,” he says.
Connor is a new physician at Hamilton Physician Group – Specialty Care, specializing in the treatment of infectious diseases.
Board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Connor did his internal medicine residency at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, N.C., and his infectious disease fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. He completed his medical schooling at Florida International University, Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami.
Connor says his patient care philosophy is to work as a team.
“Each patient is different, and treatments should be individualized based on the patient’s own health goals,” Connor says. “Creating an atmosphere of open communication and trust is essential in the field of medicine, and I strive for this in my practice because it leads to a more accurate diagnosis and therefore better care.”
A former Eagle Scout, Connor grew up camping and fishing with his father. He enjoys hiking, camping and being out on the water in his free time. He and his wife have a 10-month-old son. The family enjoys going to parks in the area and exploring the outdoors. They also enjoy trying new restaurants and new cuisines.
To schedule an appointment with Connor, call Hamilton Physician Group – Specialty Care at 706-529-3072.
